Wait 5-10mins, poke it with your finger to see if it's kinda like marshmallow fluff. If you smooth over when it's completely fresh with a knockdown blade it smoothes it like it's wet drywall mud and you don't want that. Now wait about 5-10mins so that the texture can start to set and dry. And spray into your last covered area and new area 50/50. I did it for the longest and was pretty decent at texturing until a real OG told me to go side by side, but constantly rotate the hopper clockwise as you sweep side by side. Most people recommend you do it that way. Make sure it's shooting out with a lower air output (lowest setting on both.) Don't just go side by side like a typewriter.
